In which way is God in control? 3 Sub-Questions
Questions:
1. If God harden Pharoah’s heart, how can we blame Pharaoh?
2. If God is in control of everything, why are we blamed for sinning?
3. If God exist, why did evil happen?
Bible passages:
Exo 7: 1 -, Exo 6:1, Gen 15:1, Exo 4:27-30
Discussion:
Question 1
God knows what he wants to bring out from hardening Pharoah’s heart. God hardened Pharoah’s heart because he was a stubborn man in nature.
God is the Almighty. He purposely hardened Pharoah’s heart for His Glory. God is God, He does not contradict Himself. God uses the situation to show how mighty He is. God does not want to be taken for granted. Pharoah did not see the purpose of worshiping God, He looks at his own benefit alone. God wants to manifest His Power.
Question 2
God gave us free will. God created everything and created us to be free. He gave liberty but give us commandments and rules to follow.
In the garden of Eden, law started. Adam and Eve disobeyed God. God show us what to do and what not to do. If we love God we will obey Him. Jesus died on the cross to take away our sins. God will not tempt us more than we can bear. God has given a choice to sin or not.
Question 3
Certain things in life are predestined and there is nothing we can do about it.
*More contribution to number 2.*
Even though we have free will, we need to pray for God to guide us. We need to pray for God to use us for His Glory.
